As an overseas instructor for the "Young to Young" class at the China Academy of Art, I was responsible for curriculum development, lectures, and exhibition direction. The first half of the lecture consisted of a three-part curriculum: Memory of Light, Memory of Air, and Memory of Earth, which considered "memory" through dyeing techniques. Beginning with a portrait of the artist, the participants then worked together to consider the relationship between themselves and their environment. In the latter half of the course, each participant creates a mythical creature based on an episode from his or her own memory. The resulting exhibition, "Sea of Memory," was held to establish the relationship between the fictional myths.
