PROFILE
山本愛子 Aiko Yamamoto
美術家。1991年神奈川県生まれ。東京藝術大学大学院先端芸術表現科修了（2017）。ポーラ美術振興財団在外研修員として中国にて研修（2019）。自然環境と人間の関係性をテーマに、主に染色技術を用いた作品を制作している。アジアを中心にフィールドリサーチや滞在制作を行い、土地に蓄積された自然の記憶や人の営みを、染める行為を通して掬い上げることを試みている。
Aiko Yamamoto is an artist born in Kanagawa, Japan in 1991. She completed her MFA in Intermedia Art at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2017. In 2019, she conducted research in China as an overseas fellow of the Pola Art Foundation. Her practice explores the relationship between the natural environment and human activity, primarily through dyeing techniques. Based on field research and artist residencies, mainly across Asia, she seeks to draw out the traces of accumulated natural memory and human presence embedded in each site through the act of dyeing.
